Autonomous unmanned indoor/outdoor transport by electric vehicles

Autonomous Mobile Transport Robots (AMRs)

EV-based unmanned autonomous transport robots can perform tasks indoors or outdoors at factories and distribution centers.

After deployment, the eve auto comprehensive subscription also includes route editing, operational support, and vehicle maintenance. Easy to deploy without any special installation work, the robots can carry loads up to 1,500 kg along routes that are readily editable.

Highlights

Easy

  • As a transport system employing autonomous driving technology without relying on navigational guides, eve auto requires no installation work and can be operational in as soon as one week.
(Note: Startup generally takes about one month.)
  • Routes can easily be changed after installation. After consideration of how the robots should perform their tasks, systems can be up and running in a short time.
  • Two management tools, one for administrators (FMS Console) and one for users (eve auto DASH) facilitate routine operation and analysis as well as on-site operations.

Powerful: Stable Driving, Ample Capacity

Transport cargo with confidence over bumps or ramps, in the rain, or at night.

Towing capacity: 1.5 tons (including trailer weight)
Payload: 300 kg

Maximum speed (autonomous): 10 km/h

Bumps: ±3 cm (from a stationary position)
Ramps: 7° (autonomous, in 1-ton towing *9.6° when operated manually under no load)
Continuous driving: 40 km (depending on usage and environmental conditions)

Flexible

・Enables flexible editing of routes, number of vehicles used, and interaction with surrounding facilities, which can be changed after deployment.
・Routes can be edited with mouse operations in an application that shows a vector-based map.
・Vehicle batteries are replaceable, allowing 24-hour operation.

Competitive Comparison

Although automation in the form of AGVs or AMRs has become more popular indoors, outdoor transport between buildings poses various automation challenges. Manual labor still plays a central role.
This service combines the technology of highly maneuverable electric golf carts with automated driving technology to provide a new solution for distribution sites. eve auto is a safe, efficient unmanned transport service for indoor and outdoor use.

FAQ

Introduction

Would we need to install guide lines, reflectors, or the like?

eve auto service does not require the installation of guide lines, reflectors, or other aids.

What benefits can we expect?

In addition to reduced workloads, you can expect a range of benefits from deploying the system, including elimination of demanding, dirty, and hazardous work, easing of labor shortages, and greater flexibility in responding to fluctuating production loads.

We have many transport routes, which makes it difficult to know where to introduce automation.

Drawing from past experience, we can advise you on how to proceed and select optimal routes. (Please contact us for more information.)

We would like to know the nature of initial deployment tasks.

A vehicle is driven manually to create 3D map data. Additionally, we set up travel routes, determine speeds, stopping positions, and other details, and test autonomous driving before handing over the vehicles.

Vehicles

We would like to know vehicle driving speeds, towing capacity, and other details.

Vehicles can travel at up to 10 km/h autonomously, or 19 km/h manually. The towing capacity is 1.5 tons, including trailer weight.

Can the vehicles be driven in the rain?

Autonomous driving is possible in a certain amount of rain. Operation has been confirmed in rainfall up to 10 mm/h.

Can the vehicles move in reverse?

This is only possible when the vehicles are operated manually. Autonomous driving in reverse is not supported.

What is the minimum aisle width required for automatic driving?

Aisles must be at least about 2 m wide. Contact us for more information, as this varies slightly by driving route.

What safety devices are available?

Vehicles are equipped with front LiDAR, an emergency stop button, and a front bumper (with stop switch).

Services

What is included in the subscription plan?

The package includes the vehicles themselves, the operations management system, maintenance support, external system integration, and insurance.

Related products: Trailer

eve_auto_img_17.jpg

  • A trailer with four-wheel steering is recommended.
  • Although trailers with two-wheel steering and turning front wheels (with fixed rear wheels) have been used in some cases, this may lead to differences between the track followed by the front and rear inner wheels when turning, which in turn may require on-site adjustments.
  • To use existing or original trailers, you will need to verify automatic transport compatibility without modification.
  • Trailers or very tall cargo may obscure the vehicle's signal and brake lights.
→ Remote signal lights and other options are available.
