Guided by our philosophy, “Contribute to Society Through the Expansion of Business,” Seika Corporation and the Seika Group seek to contribute to the sustainability of the global environment and society through business activities. Aiming to balance consideration for the environment and society with economic returns, we strive to pursue business operations based on medium- and long-term strategies.

In FY2023, to give concrete form to this outlook on sustainability management, we identified the following as priority materiality themes: “Contributing to the global environment for the next generation,” “Contributing to sustainable growth of industry,” “Prosperous coexistence with shareholders,” and “Practicing transparent governance.”

In addition to steadily implementing initiatives based on each theme, we established the Sustainability Committee, on which I serve as chairperson, in July 2023. The committee has built a framework for the formulation, monitoring, and risk assessment of our strategies based on a perspective of sustainability. Furthermore, to ensure detailed, highly effective activities, we have established three categories under which we will conduct our efforts: environmental initiatives, management that values people, and management quality improvement. We plan to implement and monitor all activities that fall under these categories.
